- When possible, stay in the area as long as you can, most pets return within 24 hours to the area last seen
- Report to vet and chip company
- Report to Lost Pets, Pet Harbor, Paw Boost
- Print flyers and post near location lost, public area within the area, close to home, local shelters.
- Rally community volunteers
- Hikers, Bikers, Trikers…you’ll find the dog community is very committed.
- Call his name.
- Offer a reward.
- Leave a scent trail.
- Share your story with everyone that will listen. Distribute flyers and encourage them to take a photo so it doesn't get lost.
- Budget permitting consider a drone or a helicopter.
- Consider a pet trapper that uses humane traps, cooked bait, scent trails, trail cams and feed stations.
- Talk to hunters about trail patterns and animal behavior.
- Off-road groups (Jeep, 4 Runners, etc. -you’ll find that most are willing to keep an eye out during their travel)
- Use spotlights.
- Search with night vision googles.
- Consider a psychic medium.
- Cut up his dog bed and placed the scents near the trap and feed station.
- Sundown and sunup cooking of bacon, chicken and broth to carry through the air before putting in humane trap
- Squeaky toys as we are setting trap.
- Dirty clothes used in and near trap.
- Multiple trail cams set-up at place last seen and other sighting locations

- Spread throughout social media on shelter websites, local community websites, prospectors, off roading, hiking, mountain biking, horse back riding.
- Contact Sheriff, Park Ranger.
- Local news.
- Ads on CraigsList.
- Posted in local campgrounds and marinas.
- Offer a reward.
- Searched for paw prints/waste.
